Port Police Officers are fully certified & sworn law enforcement officers of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Under the direction of the Chief, Port Police are responsible for physical security & law enforcement at the state owned terminal. Hiring salary for Virginia Inland Port Police Officer - certified law enforcement, $41,000.00; recruit attending the Academy, $39,000.00 and upon graduation $41,000.00.

Applicant must be a Commonwealth of VA certified police officer or successfully complete all requirements of a 16-week basic law enforcement training course at the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy, be 21 years old, pass a pre-employment physical & drug screening, possess a high school diploma or equivalent & a valid VA driver’s license.

Under the direction of the Chief, Port Police are responsible for physical security & law enforcement at the marine terminals. Hiring salary - certified law enforcement, $34,170; recruit attending the Academy, $32,170 and upon graduation $34,170.

Applicant must be a Commonwealth of VA certified police officer or successfully complete all requirements of a 15-week basic training course at the Hampton Roads Regional Academy, be 21 years old, pass a pre-employment physical & drug screening, possess a high school diploma or equivalent & a valid VA driver’s license.
